Which LePera Seat is Right for You? This Review will Answer all Your Questions About Le Pera Seats.
Junior here from Lifestyle Cycles, and we're about to interview Dante with La Pera Seats—it's something you don't want to miss!
So, Dante, how long have you been with La Pera Seats?
"About five years now."
Five years! In that time, I bet you've seen a lot—different styles, innovations, and some of the coolest seats on the market today.
"Oh, thank you! I can't take credit for it, though. Bob Junior is really the mastermind behind the design. It all comes down from his father, and Christine does a great job running the business. I'm just here as the sales manager to inform everyone about our products and what they offer."
One of the seats you brought in today is called The Upfront, right?
"It is."
What sets this seat apart? It obviously looks a lot different than the factory Harley seat.
"It sure does! At first glance, you’ll notice the material is different. This particular model, the Tail Whip, features a basket weave material. While it has a soft feel to the touch, it’s not technically a gripper material—it’s more of a perforated surface, which means those hot summer rides will be a lot cooler."
I like this kind of material for a couple of reasons. First, it stays a lot cooler. Second, you don’t slide around in the seat. If you’re riding aggressively or carving through twisties, there’s nothing worse than slipping in your seat.
"Exactly! The smooth material can make it easy to slide, but this texture keeps you locked in. It’s super important to stay in the same position for better riding control and confidence."
Atusa, let’s get this seat installed!
While she’s doing that, let’s talk about this bike here. This is a 2024 Low Rider ST—one of the most sought-after models on the market right now.
"I know! It’s in my garage, that’s for sure."
Wait—you have a 2024?
"I do!"
Man, you're riding my dream bike! Now, back to the seat. You mentioned something unique about this one earlier—tell us more.
"Yes! This seat is also a Tail Whip, but it features pleated stitching—or as some call it, tuck and roll. The horizontal lines across the seat give it a stylish, retro look, almost like a classic 1950s design. In fact, the stitch pattern in our catalog is called 57FS, a nod to that vintage style."
Is this available in both the basket weave and the pleated material?
"Absolutely! You can customize it however you’d like. By default, the basket weave version comes smooth, and the pleated version has a smooth, dull vinyl finish. But if you want something unique, we offer full customization options."
How long does it take to get a custom seat made?
"Our production time has never exceeded four weeks since I’ve been with the company."
Wow! That’s a blink of an eye in the custom world.
"It is! But if you need something right now, there are distributors like RW, where you can find ready-to-ship options."
Atusa just finished installing the seat—WOW. That completely changed the look of this bike!
"It really does! It went from mild to wild with nothing more than a seat change."
Exactly! And you mentioned something earlier about the Upfront version—what does that mean?
"This particular Tail Whip is the Upfront version, designed for riders who want a more aggressive riding position. It moves the rider two inches forward and tapers in near the thighs for better control. Shorter riders will feel like they’re sitting lower, while aggressive riders will feel more planted in the bike."
I noticed that! The tapering is narrower, which is a big deal for riders with a shorter inseam. When the seat is too wide, it makes the bike feel taller.
"Exactly! The design allows for a more natural, comfortable reach to the controls. And speaking of reach, we also have a Daddy Long Legs version for taller riders."
Is that what we’re putting on next?
"Yes! Let’s install the Daddy Long Legs seat and see how it looks."
Atusa, let's do it!
One thing I noticed just by picking up these seats is how well-made they are.
"Thank you! Our seat pans are made from 16-gauge steel, fully powder-coated, and built right here in the U.S. in our North Hollywood facility."
So this is an American-made seat?
"Absolutely! From start to finish, everything is done under one roof in Los Angeles."
That’s a huge plus for me. Made in the USA, built by hardworking people, and designed for Harley riders.
"Yes! And installation is super simple—one bolt and you’re done."
Now let’s talk about what’s under the seat.
"Great question! We use Marathon Foam, which is made in-house. Unlike traditional foam, which is cut from a block, we mold our foam into the exact seat shape. This ensures perfect consistency and durability."
That’s next-level engineering.
"On top of that, our Biker Tech covers are made from marine-grade vinyl, with UV-treated stitching for long-term durability."
That’s awesome. Now, I see a Low Rider over here—what’s special about this seat?
"This is a gripper-style seat. The material, called Grip G, has a rubberized texture to lock you in place during aggressive riding."
This thing is awesome! The diamond stitching is perfect. Let’s put it on a bike and see the transformation.
Atusa, let's install it!
While she’s working, I have to ask—do you have seats for 2023, 2024, and upcoming 2025 Harley Touring bikes?
"YES! And check this out—we call this color Burnt Orange, designed to match Harley's new Whiskey Fire, Legendary Orange, and Amber Whiskey paint schemes."
Wow! That’s a perfect match for Harley’s newest colors.
"And for those models, we also offer a new stitch pattern, called Cordova Pleat. It’s a cross between tuck and roll and double diamond—a blend of vintage and modern styling."
I love it! Now, we have one last seat here. This one really stands out—what’s special about it?
"This is our white-stitched Tail Whip—perfect for silver or white bikes. It's the same model but with a unique stitch color."
Correct me if I’m wrong—we have ALL of these in stock at Lifestyle Cycles?
"Yes, we do!"
So if someone wants one, they can get it in just a few days?
"Absolutely! Just visit Lifestyle Cycles Online Mega Store and grab yours."
One last question—do you make matching backrests for these seats?
"We do! We offer three sizes—small, medium, and large—all designed to work with the factory Harley-Davidson backrest system."
That’s incredible. Dante, I really appreciate you coming out today!
"Anytime! It was great talking about some killer seats with you."
