Unboxing & Review Diamond Audio MSHD14 Harley-Davidson Radio!

All right, stay tuned while we do an unboxing of the Diamond Audio 2014 to 2023 radio.

Here we are—let's get right into it!

This radio is going to fit any Harley-Davidson 2014 to 2023 touring motorcycles: your Road Glides, your Batwings—whether it be Street Glide, Electra Glide, Ultra Classic, Limited, or even the Trike models.

First of all, it comes with a cord—I'll tell you what that's for in a little bit. It's a double-ended male USB-A cord. It also comes with a gasket that goes around the front face of the radio for an extra tight water seal so you don't get water down into the fairing. You’ll also get a microphone for taking phone calls while you're on the bike.

Now, let’s get into the radio.

If you notice, this is going to look just like an OEM radio. It's got the same design and specifications, so there's no modifications needed to install it in either your Batwing or Road Glide models. Unlike Harley’s radio, this one fits both fairing types.

We're starting off with a 7-inch ultra-bright, 1000-nit brightness display screen. It's IP6 rated, just like everything else from Diamond Audio, so it can handle water coming from any direction.

The front of the radio looks just like the 2019 through 2023 Harley-Davidson GTS radio. It doesn't have the big buttons on the side—everything is built into the touchscreen. You've got a full 7-inch screen, just like the stock GTS radio. With its brightness, you’ll have no problem seeing it during the day or at night. The screen also includes a dimmer feature that allows you to adjust brightness, which is especially helpful at night—particularly on Road Glide models, where the radio is positioned right in your line of sight more than in Batwing fairings.

Now, taking a look at the back of the radio, you'll notice there’s no T-harness needed, and no Maestro module required. Why? Because the Maestro RR2 is already built into this unit.

It has six programmable outputs that you can assign to your handlebar controls. You can control things like engine glow, LED light kits, center stand, air ride—whatever you want—right from your handlebar controls just by programming the RR2 that's built into this radio.

You can plug your OEM connector directly into the radio—no need for extra modules that take up space. There's also a USB port that routes straight to your glove box, just like your current setup—so it’s a direct swap.

Like all Diamond Audio radios, it comes with a backup camera RCA input and a trigger wire to activate it. You’ll also see a blue wire, which is your amplifier turn-on wire, if you're running aftermarket amps.

One thing that really sets Diamond Audio radios apart is the output system:

  • You’ve got four channels of deck power right from this connector—just like stock.

  • And you’ve got six RCA outputs, rated at 5V, clip-free, and all full range. That means no preset front/rear/sub limitations—just six full-range outputs.

That means you can run six channels of crossover amps or DSPs, as well as use the four deck power outputs. If you're running high-efficiency compression horns, this gives you all the flexibility you need.

You also get a 10-band equalizer with per-pair adjustability—so channels 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6 can each be independently adjusted. This includes a built-in electronic crossover, so you can fully dial in your sound without needing a separate DSP unit mounted inside the fairing. It's all built into the radio.

Just like other Diamond radios, it has a SiriusXM input, and unlike many others, it also features built-in weatherband. That’s huge for long-range touring—it lets you check the weather anywhere, even if you don’t have cell service.
