[Q&A] Soundstream Harley Radio 14-23 Touring
This is the Soundstream SI head unit that fits 2014 to 2023 Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles. This radio has been out for a couple of years now, and everyone who’s been buying them has been giving us great reviews. If you’ve got questions about the SI head unit, then I’ve got the answers for you.
You bet! All Soundstream radios are IPX5 rated, which means they can withstand direct contact with water from a projected nozzle from any direction. This means you can wash your bike, park it out in the rain, ride it in the rain with confidence, and not have any worries about this [Music] radio. The Soundstream SI head unit is 100% plug-and-play; however, 2014 to 2023 Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles will need to purchase either the MRR or the RR2 module for Maestro. The purchase of one of these modules is required to decode the bike’s CAN bus system. This way, your radio will show you all the gauge functions and information. It also allows the hand controls to [Music] work.
The difference between the MRR and the RR2 is that the RR2 has eight programmable features that can be tied into your hand controls. So, you can do special features and accessories right from your hand controls, like center stands, air ride, LED lighting, things like that. Please note, at this time, that the gauges will not work on the SI on bikes that have either the Thundermax or Vance & Hines Fuelpak engine tuners.
Now, here at Lifestyle Cycles, we flash the Maestro module for you so that you don’t have to. Each module is flashed before it ships. Absolutely! This works with both the controls that are on your handlebars, as well as the passenger controls that are on the tour pack speaker pods in the rear. Yes, but even better, the radio comes with a wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto adapter to wirelessly connect your phone and still get all the maps, texts, and phone calls.
The SI has 61 programmable gauges that can show you anything that your OEM gauges do, plus a whole lot more.
The SI does not support any of the wired or wireless headsets or the CB [Music] functions. Yes, the radio is SiriusXM ready. You will need to purchase part number SXV300 V1 to activate it.
