Lifestyle Cycles Product Review: Rekluse RadiusX Auto Clutch

"Kevin and Danny here again from Rekluse Clutch. We're now going to talk about the Auto Clutch. What have you got for us, Danny? I've heard so much about this. I've seen guys have it on their bikes. I've even had some guys at a show say, 'Hey, this thing's great, go take it for a ride.' Tell me just how this all works."

"This is the Rekluse Radius X Auto Clutch. It's kind of what we're known for. Most people, when they think of Rekluse, think of Auto Clutch. We do make high-performance manual clutches, but Auto Clutch is one product we make. It's a centrifugal clutch. Basically, it allows you to start and stop without using the clutch lever. It's a performance clutch; we're still using our TorqDrive friction technology. We're including the basket sleeves to protect the basket. They go into a stock basket or into our billet machined, hard-anodized forged basket. Very, very durable."

"The Auto Clutch offers many benefits. It can be fantastic for a new rider to give someone confidence. Again, you can't stall the motor. It's one less thing to worry about in stop-and-go traffic. You're not having to touch the clutch lever at all. You don't have to find neutral or take your left hand off the bars. Auto Clutch is something for everyone. You're not giving anything up. If you rode the bike like normal, you wouldn't notice any difference. But if you come into a heavy traffic situation, the automatic clutch will engage and disengage the clutch based on RPMs."

"So essentially, how it works is when you're at idle, it's just like having the clutch lever pulled in. As you increase RPMs, by say about 3500 RPMs, it's like the clutch lever is fully released. Just like those little oddball minibikes that were death traps when we were kids, right?"

"Exactly. It's a high-performance version again with our TorqDrive clutch technology that you can retrofit into a twin application and allow it to start and stop without using the clutch lever for your clutch hand."

"Yeah, and I've seen this be a great line for so many people that do have a hard time really pulling the clutch in and things like that, to where it allows them just more years to be behind the handlebars riding and be in comfort and not have to worry about just what's going on and have that safety and confidence."

"Yeah, it can be a game-changer. It's actually been one of the most rewarding things working for Rekluse, is helping disabled riders or someone who was injured. We had disabled vets that came back paralyzed that actually, through a charity program, the Veterans Charity Ride, and there's been a few other ones where they actually took someone, built them a bike, used our clutch, some other products out there, they use some sidecars for stability, but they got it to a point where someone can get on and off a bike who's paralyzed and able to ride the bike, and that changed, I think, their whole outlook on life, you know? It gave them freedom again, back on a bike."

"I can only imagine. I mean, we're all going to get up there someday, right? You know, and it's nice that you guys are already making the products for when I get to be too old and crippled. Now, I do believe this stuff is all made in America, am I right?"

"Everything we do is manufactured in Boise, Idaho. Yeah, we're very proud of that. We've been manufacturing parts for 22 years out of Boise, Idaho. We export to something like 50 different countries and very proud to say we've been recognized by the government for our exporting excellence. So we've actually received awards for our exporting, and that's awesome because, you know, we here at Lifestyle love to support made-in-America products. I'm glad that you're keeping it in the USA, keeping our people working. So look forward to having our service team do some of these and seeing the reactions that come in from our customers. Keep your eyes on social media to see a live demo of the Auto Clutch. Come on down here to Lifestyle Cycles, have one installed; these guys can answer more questions for you."

"Excellent. Again, Danny, thank you so much for coming in. It's always a pleasure, love seeing the product line. You know, look forward to moving some more product and making some more people happy."

"Happy to be here. Thank you."

"Thank you. Wait, don't go anywhere until you like and subscribe to make sure you get notified every time we post our how-to videos, our product reviews, and all of our amazing interviews with your favorite racers and industry icons. I'll see you guys next time."
